RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT AND
APPROPRIATE $ 30,000 IN FUNDING FROM THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF
TRAFFIC SAFETY FOR THE HAYWARD POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the State of California Office of Traffic Safety has agreed to award the City of Hayward Police Department $ 30,000 as part of a Motorcyclist Safety Education and Training Program grant; and
WHEREAS, the Hayward Police Department shall use this award to fund four “Live to Ride” motorcycle courses offered by Hayward Police Department’s Traffic Unit staff in an effort to reduce the number of persons killed and injured in motorcycle collisions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hayward that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to accept and appropriate $ 30,000 in funding from the California Office of Traffic Safety for use by the Hayward Police Department to fund four “Live to Ride” motorcycle courses.
