HERCULES CITY COUCNIL
RESOLUTION NO. 22-
ADOPT A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE TURQUOISE DRIVE REHABILITATION AND TRAFFIC CALMING PROJECT AND FOXBORO SEWER ACCESS ROAD REPAIR PROJECT CONTRACT WITH MCGUIRE & HESTER AS COMPLETE FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $717,148 AND AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION WITH THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY RECORDER’S OFFICE WHEREAS, the Turquoise Drive Rehabilitation and Traffic Calming Project and Foxboro Sewer Access Road Repair construction contract was awarded to McGuire & Hester for the low bid amount of $731,754 at the July 27, 2022 Council meeting; and WHEREAS, McGuire & Hester began the work shortly thereafter and diligently prosecuted the work to completion; and WHEREAS, the project was completed for $717,148, less than the original construction contract of $731,754 as the actual quantities used on the project were less than the bid quantities estimate; and WHEREAS, the project has been completed in compliance with the approved plans and specifications to the satisfaction of the City Engineer; and WHEREAS, the project was constructed with cost-effective in-place asphalt recycling and is funded with SB 1 “Road Repair and Accountability Act” monies, which is a return to source investment in Hercules infrastructure; and WHEREAS, the Notice of Completion must be filed with the Contra Costa Recorder’s Office to allow final payment to be made to the contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hercules that the City Council hereby accepts the Turquoise Drive Rehabilitation and Traffic Calming Project and Foxboro Sewer Access Road Repair Project contract with McGuire & Hester as complete for a total amount of $717,148 and authorizes the filing of the Notice of Completion, attached hereto with the Contra Costa County Recorder’s Office.
The foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Hercules held on the 22nd day of March 2022 by the following vote of the Council:
