RESOLUTION NO. 23-____
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERCULES APPROVING A FIFTH AMENDMENT TO AN AGREEMENT WITH DOHERTY LAW GROUP TO PROVIDE LEGISLATIVE ADVOCOCAY SERVICES WHEREAS, the City Manager entered into an Agreement with Doherty Law Group to provide legislative advocacy services on October 23, 2019, for $25,500; and WHEREAS, the City Manager approved a First Amendment to said contract on February 18, 2020, to increase the total amount of the Agreement to $44,000; and WHEREAS, the City Council approved a Second Amendment to said contract on April 14, 2020, to increase the total amount of the Agreement to $94,000; and WHEREAS, the City Council approved the Third Amendment to said contract on February 9, 2021, to increase the total amount of the Agreement to $144,000; and WHEREAS, the City Council approved a Fourth Amendment to said contract on July 13, 2021, to increase the total amount of the Agreement to $168,000; and WHEREAS, the City Council approved a Fifth Amendment to said contract on October 12, 2021, to increase the total amount of the Agreement to $204,000; and WHEREAS, the City was successful in having SB 1300 introduced by Senator Skinner into the prior session of the State Legislature, and the City wishes to continue pursuit of legislation related to redevelopment dissolution issues in the current legislative session, given the direct benefits to the City; and WHEREAS, there continues to be the need for legislative advocacy services and the continued use of Doherty Law Group through the proposed Sixth Amendment to increase the not to exceed contract amount to $222,000 and requires City Council approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hercules that the Sixth Amendment to the Agreement with Doherty Law Group is hereby approved, and the City Manager is authorized to execute the Agreement.
The foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Hercules held on the 12th of July 2022 by the following vote of the Council:
