2022-23 EVENTS PROPOSAL WITH FUNDING
National Night Out
Tuesday, August 2, 2022 - Refugio Valley Park - $5,000
After the 2021 being so successful we anticipate the attendance to increase. This is an opportunity for the community to meet their neighbors, non-profits and members of the business community. The event will include similar items from the 2021 event like the Train in the park and a car show, but will also include additional items like a Dunk Tank, Lawn Bowling, Rock Painting, a Pop-a-shot, face-painting and a lot more Bay Front Festival & Run
Sunday, October 2, 2022 - Bayfront Blvd - $7,500
An increase of $2,500 from previous year. Additional funding will cover cost increases for goods and services and will allow us to improve the entertainment portion of the festival. With 300 runners and approximately 2,000 in attendance at the festival it was great marketing for our community. Along with Hercules residents, this event brings in visitors from all over the bay area. Many have not been to Hercules and this event brings them to the Bayfront area which promotes the housing in the area and may bring potential businesses to the area.

Bottles & Bites
TBA (likely Saturday, March 26, 2023, but still TBA) - Hercules Community Center - $5,000 While all the other events held are family oriented this event gives our adult residents an opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of food tastings, adult beverages, music and mingling with other members of the community. We also provide a free child watch for young families to give parents the opportunity to participate.

Hercules Cultural Festival
Saturday, June 3, 2023 - Refugio Valley Park - $17,500
We would like to bring back this event to our community as a one-day event. Traditionally this was two-day event that our community looked forward to.  It was well attended but was cut due to cost.  Unfortunately, we will not get large sponsor funding as we have a small pool of large businesses who are already sponsoring other annual events for our community. We plan on having two stages, one with community acts such as local dance schools, martial arts demonstrations among others. On the main stage we will have three bands providing music through out the day. Funding would help fund the two stages, canopies for both the stages and audience, generators, sound, three bands, and staff.  Although we will rely heavily on volunteers to run the event, key paid staff will be required.  Considering the amount requested is about a fifth of what was spent on this event in the past and inflation in costs this is going to be done using the money received as prudently as possible.
