RESOLUTION NO. 22-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERCULES AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH MCGUIRE & HESTER IN THE AMOUNT OF $925,400 FOR THE SYCAMORE AVENUE PAVEMENT REHABILITATION PROJECT, AUTHORIZING AN ADDITIONAL EXPENDITURE OF UP TO $92,540 FOR A 10% CONTINGENCY ON SAID CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT, FOR A TOTAL NOT TO EXCEED CONTRACT AMOUNT OF $1,017,940 WHEREAS, the Sycamore Avenue Pavement Rehabilitation Project was advertised for bids in the West County Times on June 13 & 20, 20212 and in 4 regional plan rooms; and WHEREAS, a total of 7 bids were received at the bid opening deadline of 2pm on Monday, July 18 and upon opening and reviewing the 7 bids received, McGuire & Hester submitted the low bid in the amount of $925,400; and WHEREAS, McGuire & Hester has been determined to be a responsible bidder and their bid has been determined to be responsive; and WHEREAS, there is sufficient funding in the Adopted FY 2022-23 Budget to fully fund the construction contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hercules that the City Council hereby adopts a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a construction contract with McGuire & Hester in the amount of $925,400 for the Sycamore Avenue Pavement Rehabilitation Project, authorizing an additional expenditure of up to $92,540 for a 10% contingency on said construction contract, for a total not to exceed contract amount of $1,017,940.
The foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Hercules held on the 9th day of August 2022 by the following vote of the Council:
