RESOLUTION NO. 23-
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE SYCAMORE AVENUE PAVEMENT REHABILITATION PROJECT CONTRACT WITH MCGUIRE & HESTER AS COMPLETE FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $889,485 AND AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION WITH THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY RECORDER’S OFFICE WHEREAS, the Sycamore Avenue Pavement Rehabilitation Project contract was awarded to McGuire & Hester for the low bid amount of $925,400 at the August 9, 2022 Council meeting; and WHEREAS, McGuire & Hester began the work shortly thereafter and diligently prosecuted the work to completion; and WHEREAS, the project was completed for $889,485, less than the original construction contract of $925,400 as the actual quantities used on the project were less than the bid quantities estimate; and WHEREAS, the project has been completed in compliance with the approved plans and specifications to the satisfaction of the City Engineer; and WHEREAS, the project is funded with One Bay Area Grant Funds (OBAG), and SB 1 “Road Repair and Accountability Act” monies, which is a return to source investment in Hercules infrastructure; and WHEREAS, the Notice of Completion must be filed with the Contra Costa Recorder’s Office to allow final payment to be made to the contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hercules that the City Council hereby accepts the Sycamore Avenue Pavement Rehabilitation Project contract with McGuire & Hester as complete for a total amount of $889,485 and authorizes the filing of the Notice of Completion, attached hereto with the Contra Costa County Recorder’s Office.
The foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Hercules held on the 25th day of April 2023 by the following vote of the Council:
