RESOLUTION NO. 23-XXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERCULES authorizing the City Manager to execute A SITE HOST AGREEMENT with ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING SERVICES, INC. for ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING services AT City facilities WHEREAS, On March 7, 2023, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors approved an item authorizing County Public Works staff to negotiate Site Host Agreements with Electric Vehicle Charging Services, Inc. (EVCS) for Direct Current Fast Chargers (DCFCs) at over 20 County-owned library locations and other County-owned facilities.; and WHEREAS, The County agreement with EVCS served as a template for the City of Hercules’s agreement under similar terms, as allowed by the consolidation provisions of the California Public Contract Code; and WHEREAS, EVCS through negotiations with the City adjusted their scope to include Level II as well as Direct Current Fast Chargers at each location and increased their revenue sharing with the City from $0.05 cents to $0.07 cents per kilowatt-hour of electricity sold; and WHEREAS, contracting for this service will allow the City to improve the availability and reliability of electric vehicle charging systems.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hercules that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute a ten-year Site Host Agreement with EVCS for electric vehicle charging services at the Hercules Civic Center and the Hercules Community Swim Center.
The foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Hercules held on the 9th day of May 2023 by the following vote of the Council:
