RESOLUTION NO. 24-
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERCULES APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH SERA ARCHITECTURE IN THE AMOUNT OF $58,176 FOR THE POLICE LOBBIES SECURITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, APPROPRIATING $61,085 FROM THE ASSET SEIZURE FUND TO FULLY FUND THE AGREEMENT, INCLUDING 5% IN CONTINGENCY FUNDING, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL WHEREAS, the Police Department has two lobbies that are open to the public, a main lobby which is accessed from the City Hall lobby and is open during City Hall working hours, and a night lobby accessed from a breezeway; and WHEREAS, Police staff interface with citizens in both lobbies, which also provide direct access to the interior of the Police Department that houses support specialists, sworn officers, and confidential records; and WHEREAS, while the two lobbies were built to the standards of the day, security improvements are needed to meet the current threat level for personnel and for maintaining confidential records; and WHEREAS, the Agreement with SERA Architecture will provide the design for security improvements to both lobbies and SERA is on the City’s pre-approved vendor list; and WHEREAS, there is sufficient funding in the Asset Seizure Fund to cover the cost of this Agreement and in the General Fund/Capital Reserves & Police Impact Fees for the construction cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hercules that the City Council hereby approves a professional services agreement with SERA Architecture in the amount of $58,176 for the Police Lobbies Security Improvement Project, appropriates $61,085 from the Asset Seizure Fund to fully fund the Agreement, including 5% in Contingency Funding, and authorizes the City Manager to execute the agreement on behalf of the City Council.
The foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Hercules held on the twenty-third day of January, 2024 by the following vote of the Council:
