RESOLUTION NO. 24-
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERCULES APPROVING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH GATES & ASSOCIATES IN THE AMOUNT OF $76,450 FOR THE REFUGIO VALLEY PARK PICNIC AREA AND SHADE STRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL WHEREAS, last summer approximately 40 eucalyptus trees were removed in Refugio Park due to public safety concerns from falling branches; and WHEREAS, Gates & Associates was subsequently hired to develop a tree and shade replacement plan; and WHEREAS, at the October 24, 2023 meeting the City Council selected an alternative to plant 72 new trees, provide shade structures at each of the 2 picnic table locations, and replace the surfacing and picnicking furniture; and WHEREAS, under this agreement Gates & Associates will design these improvements and provide bid and construction administration support; and WHEREAS, there is sufficient funding in the adopted FY 23/24 Capital Improvement Program to cover the cost of this agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hercules that the City Council hereby approves a professional services agreement with Gates & Associates in the amount of $76,450 for the Refugio Valley Park Picnic Area and Shade Structure Improvement Project and authorizes the City Manager to execute the agreement on behalf of the City Council.
The foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Hercules held on the twenty-third day of January, 2024 by the following vote of the Council:
