RESOLUTION NO. 23-
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERCULES APPROVING AMENDMENT NO.1 WITH SERA ARCHITECTURE IN THE AMOUNT OF $71,963 TO DESIGN A PERMANENT REPAIR FOR THE LIBRARY STARRY CONE LEAK, FOR A NOT-TO-EXCEED TOTAL CONTRACT AMOUNT OF $81,369, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AMENDMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL WHEREAS, the Starry Cone has leaked during heavy rains over the last several Winters; and WHEREAS, under their original agreement SERA architects completed an evaluation of the Starry Cone and determined the window, skylight, associated assemblies and stucco need to be removed and replaced to stop the leak from reoccurring; and WHEREAS, having SERA design the repairs and prepare bid documents for construction is the next step in effecting the repairs; and WHEREAS, sufficient funding for Amendment No.1 is included in the FY 23-24 Adopted Capital Improvement Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hercules that the City Council hereby approves Amendment No.1 with SERA Architecture in the amount of $71,963 to design a permanent repair for the Library Starry Cone leak, for a not-to-exceed total contract amount of $81,369, and authorizing the City Manager to execute the Amendment on behalf of the City Council.
The foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Hercules held on the twenty-third day of January, 2024 by the following vote of the Council:
