SUBJECT: Commission and Committee Appointment
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Consider making an appointment to the Hercules Finance Commission for the start of a new two (2) year term and fill a vacant seat.
DISCUSSION:
The Finance Commission currently has two vacant seats. One vacancy is due to a commissioner whose term expired December 31, 2023, who did not apply for reappointment. The second vacancy is due to an automatic termination of a commissioner’s term as a result of the commissioner being unable to fulfill the attendance requirements. The City maintains an open recruitment for applicants to fill the seats. The application deadline for Finance Commission is open until filled. The vacancies were advertised on the City’s website, the local paper, posted to City Boards and pushed through social media platforms. The City Council held a Special Meeting earlier this evening to interview the applicant. (April 23, 2024).
Finance Commission – Two (2) vacancies, Two (2)-year term- The Finance Commission meets bi-monthly on the third Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Commission is advisory to the Council. One (1) application was received.
