Herculean Mile - Awards Recognition Program
Criteria and Process
Do you know a community member who deserves to be recognized for their outstanding service to the City of Hercules? There are two (2) categories: City Employee and Member of the Community.
Nominations:
Nominations are now open for the Herculean Mile Awards Recognition Program. Selections will be made up to 3 times per year. Award recipients will be acknowledged in the seasonal Activity Guide that Parks and Recreation develops, and at the December City Council meeting.
Criteria for Recognition: Includes but is not limited to..
Employee Award:
• The nominee must be currently employed by the City of Hercules • The nominee must be viewed as a positive role model in the community • The service rendered must demonstrate a positive impact on the citizens of Hercules
Community Award (Community Member/Business Owner):
• The nominee must be a resident of the City of Hercules • The nominee must provide significant contributions to the community • The service rendered must demonstrate a positive impact on the citizens of Hercules
All Applicants will be reviewed as follows…
• The Hercules Social Committee will review and make recommendations for final approval. • Honorees will be recognized by the Mayor at a City Council meeting and featured in the next seasonal activity guide.
Employees will be recognized at the end of the year service awards gathering.

NOTE: When you click the link, there is a series of questions to answer. One of them will give you the nomination dates. These dates are set up to follow the 3 seasonal Activity Guides produced by the Hercules Parks and Recreation Department. These dates are as follows…
• Summer (due by Feb 1)
• Fall (due by June 1)
• Winter/Spring (due by Oct 1)
Submitting nominations by these dates allows
• the committee time to deliberate and make the selection for the winners, • the Parks and Recreation Department time to reach out to the winners to get a statement and photo, and • ultimately get the info into the corresponding guide
