RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE WILLOW/PALM SIDEWALK CONNECTOR PROJECT CONTRACT WITH R&S CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AS COMPLETE FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT OF $1,604,303 AND AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF THE NOTICE OF COMPLETION WITH THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY RECORDER’S OFFICE WHEREAS, the Willow/Palm Sidewalk Connector Project contract was awarded to R&S Construction Management for the low bid amount of $1,488,622 with a 10% contingency of up to $148,862 at the April 25, 2023 Council meeting; and WHEREAS, R&S Construction Management began the work shortly thereafter; and WHEREAS, the project was completed for $1,604,303 that included change orders in the amount of $115,681 necessary to complete the project and enhance pedestrian safety; and WHEREAS, the project has been completed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications to the satisfaction of the City Engineer; and WHEREAS, the project is fully funded with Measure J – TLC Grant, TDA Article 3 Grant, ARPA/General Funds, BART Funds and SB 1 “Road Repair and Accountability Act” monies, which is a return to source investment in Hercules infrastructure; and WHEREAS, the Notice of Completion must be filed with the Contra Costa Recorder’s Office to allow final payment to be made to the contractor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hercules that the City Council hereby accepts the Sycamore Avenue Pavement Rehabilitation Project contract with R&S Construction Management as complete for a total amount of $1,604,303 and authorizes the filing of the Notice of Completion, attached hereto with the Contra Costa County Recorder’s Office.
The foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Hercules held on the 11th day of June 2024 by the following vote of the Council:
