STAFF REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL
DATE: Regular Meeting of June 11, 2024
TO: Mayor and Members of the City Council
VIA: Dante Hall, City Manager
SUBMITTED BY: Eibleis Melendez, City Clerk
SUBJECT: Remote Public Participation Update
RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Provide direction to staff regarding a remote participation option for members of the public at public meetings.

BACKGROUND:

On May 28th, I provided an update at the City Council meeting, on the City’s current policy of the temporary suspension of public comment via Zoom as well as an update on how surrounding agencies are currently managing remote public comment in their public meetings. This was in response to a request that was originally made by Vice Mayor Bailey that Council approved at the January 9th meeting.

Council requested that staff bring the item back to Council when all five Council members are in attendance and provide an update on the same Cities that were surveyed in January.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no fiscal impact.
