SUBJECT: Authorize Cancellation of The August 13, 2024, Regular City Council Meeting RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff recommends that the City Council consider a summer recess and authorize the cancellation of its August 13, 2024 regular meeting.
BACKGROUND:
The City Council traditionally takes a recess for one or two meetings in August of each year to allow for vacations and generally cancels the second meetings in November and December if they fall on holiday weeks. Based on the City Council direction received on December 12, 2023, the August 27, 2024, the November 26, 2024, and the December 24, 2024 meetings were cancelled. Due to the lack of business items scheduled to be heard at the August 13, 2024 City Council meeting, staff also recommends canceling that meeting. If the meeting of August 13 is cancelled there will be no regularly scheduled City Council meetings in August 2024 and official business will resume at the next regularly scheduled Council meeting on September 10, 2024.
