RESOLUTION NO. 24-__
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF HERCULES APPROVING AN UPDATED CONTRACT FOR LEGAL SERVICES WITH JARVIS FAY LLP CONFIRMING FIRM NAME CHANGE AND CITY ATTORNEY ROLE FILLED BY CHRISTIE CROWL WHEREAS, after providing more than a decade of exemplary service to the City, current City Attorney Patrick Tang, of Jarvis Fay LLP, will be winding down his legal practice beginning on September 1, 2024; and WHEREAS, Christie Crowl, also of Jarvis Fay LLP, has been providing legal services to the City of Hercules as Assistant City Attorney for the past 7 years, has an abundance of relevant experience, and has been determined to have the skills necessary to provide the City Council and Staff with appropriate counsel; and WHEREAS, the City Council, being satisfied with the performance of Christie Crowl, desires to continue to retain her services as City Attorney; and WHEREAS, at the time the Legal Services Agreement between Jarvis Fay LLP and the City of Hercules was signed, the firm was known as “Jarvis, Fay, Doporto & Gibson, LLP,” and the City now desires to update this agreement to reflect subsequent firm ownership changes and the aforementioned change in the firm member serving as the City Attorney.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hercules that the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Legal Services Agreement on behalf of the City that updates the firm name, confirms Christie Crowl as City Attorney, and addresses other minor changes as may be necessary.
