SUBJECT: Declaring Results of the November 5, 2024, General Municipal Election RECOMMENDED ACTION:
It is recommended that the City Council adopt a resolution declaring the results of the Consolidated General Municipal Election held on November 5, 2024 BACKGROUND:
On June 11, 2024, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 24-040 calling for the holding of a General Municipal Election for purposes of electing three (3) members to the City Council and Resolution No. 24-040 requesting that Contra Costa County consolidate the General Municipal Election with the General Election to be held on November 5, 2024 and that the County provide specific election services.
ANALYSIS:
The City of Hercules held a Consolidated General Municipal Election on November 5, 2024, for the purpose of electing three (3) members of the City Council. The County of Contra Costa conducted the election on behalf of the City of Hercules. Pursuant to California Elections Code § 10262, the County Clerk has certified the election results and provided a Statement of the Votes Cast at the City of Hercules Election. Pursuant to Elections Code §10263, the City Council shall adopt a resolution declaring the election results.

Tiffany Grimsley 6,890 Kofi Opong-Mensah 3,538 Included is the Certificate of the County Clerk/Registrar of Voters as to the canvass results of the City of Hercules General Municipal Election held on November 5, 2024. Alex Walker-Griffin, Dilli Bhattarrai and Tiffany Grimsley were the successful candidates and have been elected to the City Council for full terms of four years.

There is no fiscal impact associated with this item.
