PROCLAMATION
HONORING THE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENTS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY SUPERVISOR FEDERAL GLOVER IN THE CITY OF HERCULES WHEREAS, Federal Glover dedicated his life to public service, tirelessly advocating for the people of Contra Costa County and working to build a stronger, more equitable community; and WHEREAS, he was first elected to the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors in 2000, making history as the first African American to serve on the board; and WHEREAS, throughout his 24-year tenure as Contra Costa County Supervisor, Federal Glover championed initiatives that enhanced economic development, environmental sustainability, public safety, and youth empowerment, leaving an enduring legacy that continues to shape the region; and WHEREAS, his unwavering commitment to social justice, inclusion, and community-building inspired generations of leaders and transformed countless lives for the better; and WHEREAS, Federal Glover’s profound impact on Contra Costa County will be remembered with gratitude, admiration, and deep respect, ensuring that his contributions will live on through the people he served and the institutions he strengthened.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, that I, Dion Bailey, Mayor of the City of Hercules, on behalf of the entire City Council, do hereby resolve that we honor the remarkable legacy of Federal Glover, posthumously recognizing his lifetime achievements and expressing profound appreciation for his service, leadership, and dedication to Contra Costa and beyond.
