PROCLAMATION
DESIGNATing JULY 2025 AS PARK AND RECREATION MONTH in the city of hercules WHEREAS, the National Recreation and Park Association has designated the month of July as National Parks and Recreation Month; and WHEREAS, 2025 marks the 40th anniversary of this national observance, celebrating the work of parks and recreation professionals as well as countless part-time staff and volunteers who are essential to community health and well-being, create and maintain essential community parks, facilities, and programs; and WHEREAS, the City of Hercules Parks and Recreation Department and staff pride themselves on providing exceptional recreation experiences, promoting health and wellness, protecting natural resources, strengthening safety and security, fostering human development, increasing cultural awareness, supporting economic development, and strengthening community image and sense of place; and WHEREAS, Hercules Parks and Recreation staff, community volunteers, and residents work together in the care and well-being of the City’s natural resources and ecological beauty of our community; and WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation programs promote social, intellectual, physical and emotional growth in people of all ages and abilities, support healthy lifestyles, and improve mental wellness for residents of every age; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation programs and priorities are essential and adaptable City infrastructure, increase economic prosperity and makes our communities resilient in the face of natural disasters and climate change.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, that I, Dion Bailey, Mayor of the City of Hercules, on behalf of the entire City Council, do hereby proclaim July 2025 as Park and Recreation Month in the City of Hercules. I encourage all citizens to participate in our City’s parks and recreation programs and take time to recognize and thank our parks and recreation professionals for their tireless work in fostering a stronger, healthier, and more connected community.
