RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERCULES AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH VALENTINE HEATING AND AIR, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $151,100 FOR THE SWIM CENTER HEATING, VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING (HVAC) PROJECT WITH AN ADDITIONAL EXPENDITURE OF UP TO $15,100 FOR A 10% CONTINGENCY ON SAID CONTRACT, FOR A TOTAL NOT TO EXCEED CONTRACT AMOUNT OF $166,200 WHEREAS, multiple quotes were solicited for the Swim Center Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Replacement Project pursuant to the City’s purchasing policies for general services; and WHEREAS, a total of 2 quotes were received and Valentine Heating and Air, Inc. submitted the lower quote in the amount of $151,100; and WHEREAS, Valentine Heating and Air, Inc. has been determined to be qualified to perform the requested services; and WHEREAS, there is sufficient funding in the Adopted FY 2025-26 Budget to fully fund the contract.
WHEREAS, this Project involves replacement of existing HVAC equipment and does not authorize new construction and is therefore exempt from review under the California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) pursuant to CEQA Guideline section 15301 (existing facilities) and pursuant to CEQA Guidelines section 15061(b)(3) because it can be seen with certainty that such replacement will not have a direct or indirect impact on the environment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hercules that the foregoing recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein as findings.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hercule that the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract with Valentine Heating and Air, Inc. in the amount of $151,100 for the Swim Center HVAC Replacement Project with an additional expenditure of up to $15,100 for a 10% contingency on said contract, for a total not to exceed contract amount of $166,200.
The foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Hercules held on the 29th day of July 2025 by the following vote of the Council:
