A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERCULES, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE CITY’S JANUARY 23, 2024 PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH GATES & ASSOCIATES, INC. TO PROVIDE BUILDING PERMIT SUBMITTAL AND ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES FOR THE REFUGIO VALLEY PARK PICNIC AREA AND SHADE STRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, INCREASING THE COST BY $13,743 TO A TOTAL COST OF $90,193.
WHEREAS, On January 23, 2024, the city entered into an agreement in the amount of $76,450 for professional services with Gates & Associates, Inc. (Gates) to prepare the design of the Refugio Valley Park Picnic Area and Shade Structure Improvement Project; and WHEREAS, During the 95 percent design review, it became apparent that a building permit submittal was required for the shade structures and picnic area; and WHEREAS, During the 95 percent design review, it became apparent that additional electrical engineering design is needed to provide power to new irrigation equipment at the existing restroom, valves, and flow sensor; and WHEREAS, The City anticipates continued need for Gate’s services to support management of the construction for this project; and WHEREAS, There is sufficient funding in the Adopted FY 2025-26 Budget to fully fund this contract amendment; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hercules as follows:
The City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute an amendment to an existing contract with Gates & Associates to provide Building Permit Submittal and Electrical Engineering Design Services for the Refugio Valley Park Picnic Area and Shade Structure Improvement Project, Increasing the Cost by $13,743 to a Total Cost of $90,193.
The foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Hercules held on the 23rd day of September, 2025 by the following vote of the Council:
