SUBJECT: City Council Regular Meeting Dates for 2026
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff recommends that the Council review the schedule of City Council Regular Meeting Dates in 2026 and consider canceling one or both regular meetings in August.
DISCUSSION:
The City Council traditionally goes dark for one Council meeting in August, and more recently, it has gone dark for both meetings of the month to accommodate vacations. The second meetings in November and December are usually canceled if they fall on holiday weeks.
For 2026, August meetings are scheduled for August 11th and August 25th. The November 24th meeting is on Tuesday, during the Thanksgiving holiday week. City Offices will be closed on November 25th and November 26th. The December 22nd meeting falls on the Christmas Holiday, with City Offices closed December 23 through January 1st.
Attached is a draft of the 2026 Calendar showing all City Council and Commission meeting dates, as well as dates when City Offices are closed for holidays.
FISCAL IMPACT OF RECOMMENDATION:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this item.
