RESOLUTION 2026-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HERCULES APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR INTERIM CITY MANAGER WHEREAS, due to the resignation of City Manager Dante Hall, which becomes effective on March 23, 2026, the City now desires to hire a professional, highly ethical, and qualified Interim City Manager to serve the City until a permanent City Manager can be appointed; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that J. Patrick Tang possesses the combination of qualifications, credentials and experience necessary to succeed as the Interim City Manager of the City of Hercules; and WHEREAS, the City Council has authorized staff to negotiate an Employment Agreement with J. Patrick Tang to serve as Interim City Manager for a period not to exceed one (1) year; and WHEREAS, J. Patrick Tang has agreed to serve as Interim City Manager of the City of Hercules, in accordance with the terms and conditions contained in said Employment Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hercules that following the resignation of Dante Hall, effective on March 23, 2026, J. Patrick Tang is hereby retained effective on March 24, 2026 as Interim City Manager of the City of Hercules in accordance with the terms and conditions of said Employment Agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Employment Agreement for Interim City Manager is hereby approved, and the Mayor is authorized to execute said Employment Agreement on behalf of the City of Hercules.
The foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Hercules held on the 24th of February 2026, by the following vote of the Council:
