NOTICE OF ELECTION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Hercules on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, for the following Elected Officials:
Member of City Council Full term of Four Years Member of City Council Full term of Four Years The nomination period for these offices begins on July 13, 2026 and closes on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 4:00 p.m (City offices are closed Friday, August 7th, 2024). Nomination papers may be obtained from the City Clerk’s office located at City Hall, 111 Civic Drive, Hercules, CA Appointments for obtaining and filing nomination papers are required and can be requested by emailing the City Clerk at HYPERLINK "mailto:[email protected]"[email protected] or calling 510-799-8200. Appointments will be scheduled during regular business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday -Thursdays (City offices are closed on Fridays).
If nomination papers for an incumbent officer of the city are not filed by August 7, 2024, the filing period for that office is extended five (5) calendar days, to Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 4:00p.m., for non-incumbents only. During this extension period, no incumbent is allowed to file nomination documents. If no one or only one person is nominated for an elective office, appointment to the elective office may be made as prescribed by § 10229, Elections Code of the State of California.
The polls will be open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on election day.
