Via Email: [email protected] and [email protected] Re: Notice to Cease and Desist– Unauthorized Use of City of Hermosa Beach Seal, Logo and Insignia
Dear Mr. Inez:
It came to our attention that your company, Pacific Stranded, is using the City of Hermosa Beach’s seal, logo, and insignia without authorization. Pacific Stranded uses elements of the City’s seal, logo and insignia in connection with the promotion and sale of products. The table below summarizes the infringements:
City of Hermosa Pacific Stranded Similarities
Pacific Stranded Logo comprises two concentric
circles, including the same “Hb” lockup letters in
the inner circle. The rays extending to the
outside of circle are also identical.
Pacific Stranded Seal closely matches the City’s
seal:
o Upper right-hand corner: Similarly shaped
cattle brand figure.
o Upper left-hand corner: 1 wave of water
removed, and a ball added above the waves.
o Lower left-hand corner: Tennis racket
replaced with skateboards to maintain “X”
shape.
o Lower right-hand corner: The house is
swapped for a bicycle.
Pacific Stranded street sign matches the City’s
current street sign, including the same insignia,
font and color. The sign color is also similar.

for the City logo with the
USPTO. As part of developing
a Licensing Agreement for the
Commercial Use of the City
