Pre-Employment Services Contract Amendment
RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to approve an amendment to the existing contract with Desert Valley Medical Group, Inc. for an additional $10,000 for a revised not-to-exceed contract amount of $60,000.
BACKGROUND
Pre-employment services, such as medical physicals and evaluations, are performed in compliance with Federal and State requirements for prospective and current employees in order to determine their suitability for City employment, a Department of Transportation Medical Certification or Respiratory Fitness. .
ISSUES/ANALYSIS
The City executed a one-year agreement with Desert Valley Medical Group, Inc. in the amount not-to-exceed $50,000 for Fiscal Year (FY) 2017-18. An amendment to the agreement was approved to extend services for one (1) additional year for Fiscal Years 2018-19 through FY 2021-22. While the existing fee schedule will be maintained, additional contract authority is needed to continue pre-employment services through the end of Fiscal Year 2021-22. A Request for Bids (RFB) for FY 2022-23 pre-employment services will be conducted in spring 2022.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding exists within the FY 2021-22 adopted budget in Human Resources/Risk Management Division funds and will continue to be budgeted on an annual basis.
