SUBJECT:
Professional Services Agreement with CivicPlus
RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to enter into a three (3) year agreement with CivicPlus, LLC in an amount not-to-exceed $50,000, to provide online hosting and maintenance for the codification of the City’s Ordinances.
BACKGROUND
The City is required to codify Council adopted Ordinances and needs to procure the services of an experienced professional to provide electronic and paper codification updates. When the City incorporated in 1988, Lexis-Nexis was utilized to codify the City’s Municipal Code. In 2009, Municode acquired Lexis-Nexis and they continued the codification services. On May 10, 2022, the City was notified that CivicPlus acquired Municode. Due to this acquisition, a contract with CivicPlus is necessary to continue these required services.
ISSUES/ANALYSIS
CivicPlus will provide administrative support, online code hosting and web storage, in addition to providing electronic codification updates. CivicPlus has agreed to provide the same service Municode was providing at the same cost. With the acquisition, staff recommends approval of an agreement through June 30, 2025, allowing these services to continue with CivicPlus.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding for these services will be included in the annual operating budget.
