SUBJECT:
Fleet Maintenance Services for Fiscal Year 2022-23
RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended that the City Council and Board of Directors of the Hesperia Water District authorize the City Manager to enter into a one (1) year agreement with G & M Automotive Center, Inc. in a not-to-exceed amount of $250,000, for fleet maintenance services.
BACKGROUND
Preventative and corrective maintenance is required for the City of Hesperia’s and Hesperia Water Districts’ seventy-six (76) light-duty vehicles, and (35) super-duty and heavier on-road vehicles and equipment.
ISSUES/ANALYSIS
On May 5, 2022, Public Works requested bids from local vendors located within the City that could provide maintenance services. To include as many potential bidders as possible, the vehicle fleet’s three categories were solicited on three separate requests for bids (RFB’s) and public bid opening was held on May 19, 2022 for RFB’s 2021-22-014, 2021-22-015, and 2021-22-016. G & M Automotive Center, Inc. has been deemed the lowest responsible, responsive bidder.
FISCAL IMPACT
Sufficient funding will be included in the Fiscal Year 2022-23 Proposed Operating Budget.
ALTERNATIVE(S)
1. Provide alternative direction to staff.
