RESOLUTION NO. 2022-054
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HESPERIA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2022-23 BUDGET TO ACCEPT FUNDING FROM THE CALRECYCLE WASTE TIRE AMNESTY GRANT PROGRAM AND APPROPRIATE $19,401 IN FUNDS TO CERTAIN GRANT RELATED EXPENDITURES WHEREAS, the Local Government Waste Tire Amnesty Program, administered by the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), provides funding for date-specific events that allow residents to bring waste tires to convenient locations for proper management and disposal; and WHEREAS, the City of Hesperia applied for FY 2021-22 Waste Tire Amnesty Grant funds in April of 2021 and did not receive first round funding due to a decrease in funding related to the Covid-19 pandemic; and WHEREAS, due to not receiving Waste Tire Amnesty grant funds before budget preparation, City staff did not include funding for Tire Amnesty activities in the FY 2022-23 Budget; and WHEREAS, CalRecycle recently notified City staff that the City of Hesperia will be receiving round two funding for the Waste Tire Amnesty Grant Program for FY 2022-23; and WHEREAS, a budget amendment is needed to accept and include these grant funds in the City of Hesperia’s FY 2022-23 Budget to allow for expenditures and reimbursements.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF HESPERIA CITY COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council accepts CalRecycle Waste Tire Amnesty Grant Program funds in the amount of $38,802.
Section 2. That the City hereby amends the FY 2022-23 Budget and appropriates $19,401 to Fund 256 in the FY 2022-23 Budget.
Section 3. That City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions.
