SUBJECT:

Public Works Asset Management Software (Cityworks) Maintenance Agreement

RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended that the City Council and Board of Directors of the Hesperia Water District (District) authorize the City Manager to enter into a three-year software license and maintenance agreement with Azteca Systems, Inc. in an amount not-to-exceed of $129,875.

BACKGROUND
In 2007, the City purchased the Public Works Asset Management System (Cityworks) that provides asset management for the City and District’s infrastructure. Cityworks is also able to integrate well with the City’s Geographic Information System (GIS) where staff can pinpoint asset locations and get detailed specifications while out in the field. This results in quicker response and resolution times. In addition, Cityworks accurately tracks projects and individual work order costs associated with each asset.

ISSUES/ANALYSIS
Since the initial installation of Cityworks, the City has continued to maintain the software license and maintenance agreement with Azteca Systems, Inc. The current agreement is set to expire in November of 2022 and to continue to utilize Cityworks, a three-year software license and maintenance agreement is being requested. This includes software updates, adjustments, and support for the system.

FISCAL IMPACT
Funding has been included in the Fiscal Year 2022-23 Budget.

ALTERNATIVES
Provide alternative direction to staff.
