Revised Combined Compensation Schedules
RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended that the City Council and Board of Directors of the Hesperia Water District adopt Joint Resolution No. 2022-77 and HWD 2022-18, approving the City’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2022-23 revised Combined Compensation Schedule.
BACKGROUND
The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) requires that the City Council, Commissions, and Board of Directors (City Council) approve and adopt a Combined Compensation Schedule whenever there are changes to salaries. In order for an employee to receive service credit for a salary the salary must be listed on an approved and adopted Compensation Schedule.
The most recent approved and adopted Combined Compensation Schedule occurred on July 19, 2022 with the adoption of Resolution No. 2022-55, HHA- 2022-05 and HWD 2022-05.
ISSUES/ANALYSIS
On October 4, 2022, the City Council adopted the Second Amendment to Current City Manager Employment Agreement.
On November 3, 2022 and in compliance with CalPERS Retirement Law Section 21224, the City Manager designated a Retired Annuitant position, Principal Planner - Part-Time Retired Annuitant, with an hourly range 44 to perform the specialized skills needed.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact to adopting the Combined Compensation Schedules as this is an information schedule required by CalPERS. These increases will be included in the revised adopted budget.
