City Council Advisory Committee Meeting Schedule
RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended that the City Council approve Resolution 2023-42 amending the City Council Advisory Committee (CCAC) meeting schedule, shifting the quarterly schedule to the first Thursday of the months of March, June, September, and December at 6:00 p.m.
BACKGROUND
The CCAC was established in its current form through Resolution 2009-023 on April 21, 2009. Section 7 of this resolution states that the meetings be scheduled quarterly in January, April, July, and October, at 6:00 pm on the second Wednesday of the month. The Committee regularly reviews PRIDE (Neighborhood Enhancement Program) submissions and (Community Assistance Program) CAP applications before their introduction to the City Council.
ISSUES/ANALYSIS
In recent years, the City Council Advisory Committee has experienced persistent issues with absence and vacancies, often struggling to maintain a quorum. Since inception, “Special Meetings” have been scheduled to maintain the timeline required by the CAP program for efficient funding. In an effort to achieve a regular quorum and bring the quarterly schedule into synchronicity with the programs being reviewed, staff conducted a poll of the current City Council Advisory Committee members to determine a more efficient schedule. Based on their unanimous agreement, staff recommends shifting the regular quarterly meeting schedule to the first Thursday in the months of March, June, September, and December.

There is no fiscal impact associated with approval of the recommended action.
