Radio Maintenance and Access Agreement with San Bernardino County
RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute a five-year access and maintenance contract with San Bernardino County in the amount of $61,994, plus a 10% contingency amount of $6,199, for a total not-to-exceed contract amount of $68,193, to provide access and maintenance for 19 City radios.
BACKGROUND
San Bernardino County Innovation and Technology department provides channel access, programming, and maintenance for 19 City owned radios. These radios are used by Animal Services and Code Enforcement staff for communication, coordination, and safety in their field operations.
ISSUES/ANALYSIS
San Bernardino County is the owner and only operator of the radio tower and channel system used in the operation of City radios. They are the sole source for programming and access to this system. Establishing an updated maintenance and access agreement will ensure continued access, system compatibility, and support for a five-year term.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funding for this agreement has been included in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2023-24 Operating Budget and will continue to be included in the annual operating budgets.
