Designation of Applicant’s Agent Resolution for Non-State Agencies Pertaining to Emergency Funding Eligibility
RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 2023-60 approving and authorizing: 1) the request for reimbursement for the City’s response to the 2023 Winter Storm event; 2) a universal resolution effective for all open and future disasters up to three (3) years following the approval date; 3) the City Manager to execute all matters pertaining to assurances and agreements as required by the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services.
BACKGROUND
In February 2023, the Winter Storm event caused severe damage to several roads in the city, resulting in road closures for debris removal and emergency road repairs. In response to the incident, the City of Hesperia activated its Emergency Operations Center and declared a Local Emergency.
ISSUES/ANALYSIS
In coordination with the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, City staff submitted a Request for Public Assistance to seek reimbursement for eligible expenses incurred to the city as a result of its response to the Winter Storm event. If approved, the city will seek reimbursement for expenses incurred.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this action.
