Consideration of Animal Shelter Evaluation
RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended that the City Council receive and file the findings from the most recent independent Animal Shelter evaluation.
BACKGROUND
Concerns raised by the City Council, staff, and the public beginning in June of 2023 necessitated an independent evaluation of the current state and function of the City’s animal shelter. Animal Shelter Services, LLC was contracted to perform a comprehensive evaluation of the City’s animal shelter.
ISSUES/ANALYSIS
Animal Shelter Services auditors were on-site from September 25 through September 28, 2023, after which time they compiled the information gathered, and authored the report, and its associated recommendations, being presented to you at this time.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact in receiving this item.
