G & M Automotive Center, Inc. Contract Amendment
RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended that the City Council and Board of Directors of the Hesperia Water District authorize the City Manager to amend the current contract with G & M Automotive Center, Inc. in the amount of $75,000 for a new not-to-exceed contract amount of $575,000 for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
BACKGROUND
Preventative and corrective maintenance is required for the City of Hesperia and Hesperia Water District’s seventy-eight (78) light-duty vehicles, and thirty-five (35) super-duty and heavier on-road vehicles and equipment. Preventative maintenance improves fleet productivity, manages vehicle wear, and ultimately reduces repair costs.
ISSUES/ANALYSIS
Public Works requested bids for Fiscal Year (FY) 2022-23 from local vendors located in the High Desert that could provide maintenance services. To include as many potential bidders as possible, the vehicle fleet’s three categories were solicited on three separate requests for bids (RFB’s). G & M Automotive Center, Inc., located in Hesperia, was deemed the lowest responsible/responsive bidder in each bid.
FISCAL IMPACT
Sufficient funding has been included in the FY 2023-24 Budget.
