Pacific Products & Services, LLC Contract Amendment
RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to amend the existing agreement with Pacific Products & Services. LLC in the amount of $30,000 for a total not-to-exceed contract amount of $250,000 for the purchase of traffic signs and sign materials.
BACKGROUND
The Public Works Traffic Program is responsible for the installation and maintenance of roadway pavement markers and traffic signs throughout the City of Hesperia. Traffic signs are vital to regulate, warn, and guide motorists and pedestrians in and around the public right-of-way. All City traffic signs are maintained to State and Federal standards based on the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devises (CA MUTCD).
ISSUES/ANALYSIS
Additional contract authority with Pacific Products & Services, LLC is requested in order to continue purchasing traffic signs and sign materials for new locations along with replacing those destroyed by vehicle impact, vandalism, and theft. City staff has been satisfied with the vendor’s work under the existing contract as they have demonstrated the ability to deliver a quality product at competitive prices within the desired delivery timeframe.
FISCAL IMPACT
Sufficient funding is included in the Fiscal Year 2023-24 Operating Budget.
