SUBJECT:

Pacific Products & Services, LLC Contract Amendment

RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to amend the existing agreement with Pacific Products & Services, LLC in the amount of $130,000 for a total not-to-exceed amount of $380,000, and approve a one-year contract extension for the purchase of traffic signs and sign materials.

BACKGROUND
The Public Works Traffic program is responsible for the installation and maintenance of roadway pavement markers and traffic signs throughout the City of Hesperia. Traffic signs are vital to regulate, warn, and guide motorists and pedestrians in and around the public right-of-way. All City traffic signs are maintained to State and Federal standards based on the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devises (MUTCD).

ISSUES/ANALYSIS
City staff has been satisfied with the vendor’s offering under the existing contract as they have demonstrated the ability to deliver a quality product at competitive prices within the desired delivery timeframe. The current agreement with Pacific Products & Services, LLC expires on June 30, 2024. A contract extension is needed to continue to purchase traffic signs and sign materials for new locations along with replacing those destroyed by vehicle impact, vandalism, and theft. The vendor has agreed to hold the current contract pricing for one more year through June 30, 2025.

FISCAL IMPACT
Sufficient funding has been included in the FY 2024-25 Proposed Operating Budget.

ALTERNATIVE(S)
Provide alternative direction to staff.
