SUBJECT:

General Pump Company - New Contract

RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended that the City Council and Board Members of the Hesperia Water District authorize the City Manager to enter into a three (3) year agreement with General Pump Company in a not-to-exceed amount of $165,032 for well and booster services.

BACKGROUND
The Hesperia Water District currently maintains fifteen (15) active wells, one (1) standby well, and six (6) booster stations to purvey water throughout the City. Having a water pump repair service provider on a contract helps minimize interruption in the event that a pump requires repair. Additionally, General Pump Company provides services beyond pump repair, including routine maintenance services, electrical repair, and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) support.

ISSUES/ANALYSIS
With the previous agreement for water pump repair services ending June 30, 2024, staff released RFB 2023-24-012 and received three (3) complete bids. It has been determined that General Pump Company is the lowest responsive/responsible bidder. The funding included in the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Water Operating Fund 700 Budget is sufficient to cover minor repairs and preventative maintenance. Should a well pump need to be overhauled or replaced, additional contract authority will be requested.
