Placer Labs Inc. Contract Amendment
RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to approve a contract amendment, in the amount of $24,806, with Place Labs Inc. (Placer AI), for a total not-to-exceed amount of $70,931, to provide an additional year of retail demographic data for the Economic Development division.
BACKGROUND
Since 2022, Placer AI has provided the Economic Development division with retail demographic data, including, but not limited to, visitation data with demographic and psychographic insights to help staff better understand consumer behaviors, preferences, and shopping patterns. Moreover, Placer AI data also helps staff identify appropriate retailers/commercial users for various locations throughout the City and analyze trade areas to identify where visitors are coming from, where they are staying, and what specific sites they are visiting.
ISSUES/ANALYSIS
The current contract with Placer AI expires on September 25, 2024, and a contract amendment, in the amount of $24,806 for a total not-to-exceed amount of $70,931, for an additional twelve months (beginning on September 26, 2024, and expiring on September 25, 2025), is needed to continue to provide retail demographic data.
