County of San Bernardino Hesperia Branch Library Lease Term Extension (9650 Seventh Avenue)
RECOMMENDED ACTION
It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager, or designee, to allow the County of San Bernardino to exercise its first optional five-year lease extension for the Hesperia Branch Library located at 9650 Seventh Avenue.
BACKGROUND
On September 15, 2006, the City of Hesperia entered into a formal agreement to lease the building located at 9650 Seventh Avenue (APN 0407-271-01) to the County of San Bernardino as the Hesperia Branch Library. The agreement established an initial lease term of twenty (20) years, with two (2) optional five-year extensions. The annual lease rate is $1.00 per year.
ISSUES/ANALYSIS
The current lease is scheduled to expire on September 30, 2026. On June 22, 2026, the County of San Bernardino submitted a Letter of Intent notifying the City of its intent to exercise the first optional five-year lease extension, as provided for in the lease agreement.

FISCAL IMPACT
There is no additional fiscal impact associated with this action. The lease will continue under its existing terms, including the annual lease payment of $1.00.
