Mayor Velazquez called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

The Special Meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Ignacio Velazquez on December, 12,2022 at 6:00 PM in the City Council Chambers at 375 Fifth Street, Hollister, CA 95023.

VERIFICATION OF AGENDA POSTING
City Clerk Woodworth reported the agenda for the City Council of the City of Hollister special meeting of December 12, 2022 was posted on the bulletin board at City Hall on December 9, 2022 at 2:41 p.m.per Government Code Section 54954.2.
A. CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HOLLISTER
1. Presentation of plaque to outgoing City Treasurer Anietra Gomez City Manager Miller presented a plaque to and thanked outgoing City Treasurer Anietra Gomez for her service to the City of Hollister and its residents.
Treasurer Gomez shared remarks about how much the City of Hollister means to her and the work done by the city for its residents.
2. Presentation of plaque to outgoing Mayor Ignacio Velazquez City Manager Miller presented a plaque to and thanked outgoing Mayor Ignacio Velazquez for his service to the City of Hollister and its residents.
Mayor Velazquez shared comments thanking his fellow council members and Hollister staff for their efforts and work to support Hollister's residents.
3. California State Legislative Resolution Honoring Mayor Velazquez Representatives from Senator Ana Caballero's and Assemblymember Robert Rivas's offices presented Mayor Velazquez with a resolution from the California State Legislature to thank and honor him for his service as Hollister's mayor.
4. Resolution No. 2022-207 a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Hollister California reciting the fact of the Consolidated General Municipal Election held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, and declaring the results and such other matters as provided by law
Public comments opened at 6:12 p.m.
Susan Logue thanked Mayor Velazquez for his support of the Hollister Library and stated she looks forward to working with the new mayor.
Elia Salinas congratulated all of the candidates being sworn in, thanked those stepping down, and spoke in support of working together to support Hollister.
Celeste Toledo-Bocanegra recommended delaying the certification of the election results due to an ongoing recount by the Registrar of Voters for Hollister City Council, District 2.
Councilmember Burns moved, and Councilmember Perez seconded the motion to approve Resolution 2022-207. The motion carried 5-0-0.
The City Council recessed at 6:14 p.m. and reconvened at 6:30 p.m. with Councilmembers Perez, Resendiz, Morales, and Burns present.
5. Oath of Office to Mayor Mia Casey, Council Member District 2 Rolan Resendiz, Council Member District 3 Dolores Morales, and City Treasurer Gordon Machado
City Clerk Woodworth administered the oath of office to City Treasurer Gordon A.
Machado, Council Member, District 2 Rolan Resendiz, Council Member District 3 Dolores Morales, and Mayor Mia Casey.
COMMENTS FROM INCOMING COUNCIL MEMBERS
Councilmember Resendiz, Councilmember Morales, Mayor Casey, and Treasurer Machado provided comments thanking the public and stated their enthusiasm for working together for the Hollister community.
ADJOURNMENT
Councilmember Burns moved, and Councilmember Morales seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried 5-0-0.
