***BEGIN
As reported by the press, on Wednesday August 6th, the Executive Director for Stanislaus Council of Governments (StanCOG) was fired with cause effective immediately. This means they will no longer receive monthly payments for being suspended. One of the articles reported councilmember (should have been Mayor) George Carr was in the meeting in the beginning but left early and was not part of the vote. The report was true, however, after hearing the findings from the ad-hoc committee George Carr would have voted to fire the executive director with cause, so the final vote would have been 10 - 0. ***END
