Subject: RE: Agenda Item 22 on 3/1/22 - Edison Park
I am writing to request that you please vote yes on item 22, to withdraw previous approval of the Edison Park Reconfiguration Conceptual Plan.

Voting yes will allow a review and re-evaluation of the plan and include more representative community and user input. Despite RJM's claim of extensive community input, there was no invitation to residents surrounding the park to participate in the surveys/planning, which calls into question how exactly they selected participants.

I've been a resident of South Huntington Beach for over 25 years, and my property is immediately adjacent to the West side of the park. While all would agree that the park is in need of renovation, Plan C developed by RJM is overly ambitious and would turn our beautiful park into a sports complex.

Some items needing further consideration:
• Replacement of mature, established trees with new ones requiring 5 times the water during a severe drought.
• Impact of traffic & parking in the surrounding neighborhoods • Light & noise for the proposed lighted soccer fields
• Feasibility of combining softball & soccer fields
• Elimination of the wide open areas
The appearance of this item on the meeting agenda shows that you are open to listening to the community's concerns, and for that I thank you. Please vote yes to withdraw the previous approval and allow for more representative community input.

Thank you,
Dana DeVore

Subject: YES on Agenda Item #22-123 Consider Withdrawal of Council Approval for Edison Park Conceptual Plan
Please vote YES on Agenda Item 22-123 to withdrawal the City Council's approval for the Edison Park Conceptual Plan. I am a 30-year resident on Poston Lane (our street dead-ends into Edison Park). Our son went K-6th grade at Kettler, we love this neighborhood. I remember with a great deal of fondness, taking my son down to the playground area to play on the "ship". What great memories! Our son is 33 years old TODAY!!
While I agree there needs to be updates and improvements to Edison Park, the Council Approved Conceptual Plan was not fully shared with the neighborhood surrounding the park.

Please hear the residents and give the neighborhood the opportunity to weigh-in on the changes. Our park really does need to be updated, but our voices also need to be considered.

Thank you,
Shelley Keltner

Subject: YES on Agenda Item #22-123 Consider Withdrawal of Council Approval for Edison Park Conceptual Plan
Please give the local neighbors time to consider and be a part of the park updates. We need the park updated, but we also need to be a part of the process.

I have lived here on Poston for over 30 years and love our neighborhood. I know all will not be satisfied, but a little time and compromise will go a long way.
