What do you feel qualifies you to represent the youth of the community? The qualities that I teel qualify me to represent the youth of the community is that I am a driven, empathetic, and passionate person who desires to empower others by ensuring that everyone has a voice. After joining Model United Nations in freshman year, I learned from my peers, fellow delegates, and porsonal experiences in conferences that the key in being a leader is communicatión, collaboration, and cooperation. Moreover, MUN has personally created a sense of community and confidence that enabled me to develop skills through discussions, on contemporary gender, racial, and environmental issues: I am always eager to learn, listen and. help others. Overall, I believe all these factors and experiences shaped and qualify me to represent the youth of the community;
Why are you interested in serving on the Youth Boord, and what do you feel you can contribute to the Board?
I am interested in serving on the Youth Board because it provides a unique opportunity to help me provide a voice for others and create change within the community: I believe that there are certain topics that are urgent to be addressed and I want to ensure that it will happen. I feel that I can contribute to the board due to my numerous experiences in leadership roles such as being the co-president of the Human Trafficking Awareness Club, H.O.P.E (Helping Other People Everyday) Clüb, and serving as the historian for the Rotary Interact Club, I am also a member of the National Honors Society and co-captain of the girl's tennis team, I very much enjoy and thrive on opportunities to interact and connect with people.

Additionally, every Saturday, 1 enjoy participating in a discussion forum hosted by S4$ (Student For Student), where we discuss and debate on political, social, and cultural issues with students from a developing country. With my group of students, I was able to help them improve their English by interacting and initiating conversations on controversial topics. Some of my most memorable conversations were on gender equality, wealth disparity; and the extent of governmental control. I believe that being on the Youth Board will provide this opportunity to create a scise of awareness in our community.

Re: Recommendation for Olivia Pham
Dear Ms. Molly Uemura:

It is my pleasure to recommend Ms. Olivia Pham for the 2022-2023 Youth Board Program for the City of Huntington Beach. I believe her qualifications and personality will be a great asset to the program.

I have been Ms. Pham's mentor for the past seven years. In that capacity, I have had the opportunity to become intimately acquainted with Ms. Pham, and have seen her progress as a young lady with a lot of potential.

I have personally witnessed Ms. Pham's dedication and passion for volunteer work. She has shown perseverance, flexibility and the eagerness to learn with her assignments. She is willing to step up and lead group activities, or be a supportive team member when necessary. For example, she holds leadership positions with her Human Trafficking Awareness Club as well as HOPE Club as the President and historian for the Rotary Interact Club. She is also an active member of the National Honor Society and other various organizations.

Ms. Pham is also passionate about being a part of the Model United Nation ("MUN") program at Huntington Beach High School ("HBHS"). She has won several Awards in Excellence in various competitions between HBHS and other high schools on a national and international level.

Ms. Pham truly has a desire to contribute to our society, and to be helpful to those in need. During this pandemic crisis, she has participated in the OC3DPPE organization that makes 3D shield masks for healthcare workers.

Through witnessing her personal achievements, I can confirm that she is undeniably a determined and passionate person who desires to make change in her community. I have seen her provide a voice for others in a time of need and help others without hesitation.

Ms. Pham would be a great fit in any environment, and I have no hesitation in recommending her for your Youth Board Program. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, I can be reached at (949) 797-9090.

Sincerely,
Krystairan
