1. Introductions
a. TJ Stapleton, Stapleton & Associates
b. Louie Brown and Taylor Roschen, Kahn, Soares, & Conway LLC
2. Federal Legislative Update: Stapleton updated the group on the new Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, and provided an overview of the bifurcated continued resolution and CR to move the budget. It’s expected that in March 2024 the City will be able to submit funding requests for the 2025 FY.
3. State Legislative Update : Brown noted that the new Speaker will appoint new committee chairs and there will be a change in Senate leadership as well. It’s likely that there will be a budget deficit coming in 2024. There are a few bonds that the City may be able to utilize for mental health services and climate related projects.
