5 Offsite Air Monitoring Pause Until Work Resumes
• In October 2023, DTSC approved a
pause in the Ascon offsite air monitoring
program when there is no work onsite.
The trailers in the community have been
removed until restart work begins.
• Air quality monitoring data gathered since
September 2019 has shown that air
quality has been safely below health-
protective screening levels, including
during active work.
• Near real-time telemetry data from pilot
work, air quality data and wind direction
can be reviewed on asconhb.com.
Offsite trailers were brought onsite until the remedy restart.

6 Ascon Restart Work Community Meeting
• DTSC will host a community meeting in advance of
restart work.
• The Edison Community Center is the preferred
location of the meeting, subject to availability and
coordination with the City.
• Meeting date to be confirmed by DTSC after initial
reviews of restart plan (tentatively Spring 2024).

BANNING AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS
• Improvements and rehab on Banning Avenue- Magnolia to Brookhurst. Includes new pavement, re-striping, street trees, landscaped medians, bike lanes, and enhanced pedestrian safety devices (flashing beacons) at 2 locations crossing Banning at Starfire and at Malibu. Construction is expected to be completed by February.
