VOTE NO on this ridiculous statement of solidarity.
Mayor Pro Tem Burns - stop campaigning and start governing. Your duties are to the City - not to national issues that do not affect the City.
This "issue" has nothing to do with your duties as elected officials of Huntington Beach. In your legislative platform - there is no mention of border walls or invasions of immigrants, so why is this item being proposed for a vote by the City Council?
This "statement of solidarity" directly
contradicts the issues that you are voting on in your legislative platform as shown in Agenda Item # 12 (24-078).
This is nothing more than a disingenuous attempt to link the author's claim of state government overreach to the border problem, which is a national issue.
