Huntington Beach City Council
The Orange County Employees Association (OCEA) is the exclusive representative for the Management Employees Organization (HBMEO) bargaining unit for the City of Huntington Beach.
Our organization is comprised of management level public servants who work in every City department. HBMEO represents the positions of Community and Library Services Manager, Principal Librarian and Senior Librarian.
On Tuesday, June 18th the City Council will consider item 24-452, “Consider Proposal Received as Part of the Request for Proposal Process for Managed Library Services for the Huntington Beach Public Library.” We are writing to express our support for Option A, “Reject the proposal for Managed Library Services for the Huntington Beach Public Library.” HBMEO supports keeping library services in-house. The Huntington Beach Public Library has been a source of pride in our community since 1909. We hope the City Council will continue to support this proud and unique Huntington Beach asset by adopting Option A.
