Naming of the Shipley Nature Center Interpretive Center July 2, 2024
Naming Process
Per Resolution 2017-25, the naming of parks and park amenities, such as the Interpretive Center at Shipley Nature Center, are vetted through the Community & Library Services Commission for recommendation to City Council for final approval.
Approval of recommendation for this naming is not required to go before the Commission’s Park Naming & Memorial Committee for recommendation to Commission because a name, already meeting the criteria has been recommended.
The Committee is called upon when no name recommendation has been received, or when there is more than one name to choose from, or additional research is required.
